Reopening of educational institutes has been announced in the country by federal educational minister Shafqat Mehmood. The minister announced that Matric and Inter schools/colleges will be reopened in the first phase from January 18. Primary and middle classes will be opened in the second phase from January 25 while higher education institutions including universities will be reopened from February 01.
The decision was taken in the Inter-Provincial education minister’s conference held under the chairmanship of the federal minister for education and professional training. Education ministers of all four provinces, Gilgit Baltistan and AJK also participated in the meeting.
The decision to reopen educational institutions in all four provinces of the country was taken on the basis of health advisory, keeping in view the cases. Matric and Inter classes will be opened in the first phase as their board exams are due.
It is also decided to delay the board exams scheduled in March. Now Matric and inter exams will be held in May/June. The exams are postponed as the syllabus could not be covered due to coronavirus vacations in the schools and colleges throughout the country. The participant also discussed to start the academic year in August. The participants also discussed the national education policy.
The registration process will start from January 4, 2021 and the latest date to apply for Pak Army’s Short Service Commission is January 29, 2021. A preliminary test will be conducted from February 3 to February 12, 2021
